Look at the purple cell <89> at r9c8
If it is 8 then r2c8 < > 8
If it is 9 then follow the green squares and r2c7 = 8 and again r2c8 < > 8
You can look at this as either a WXYZ wing - four numbers in four cells 3,4,8,9. That's the three green cells and the purple one.
Equally it can be viewed as an ALS xz pattern
Set A is green and contains {3,4,8,9}
Set B is purple and contains {8,9}
The restricted common is digit 9 in r7c7 and r9c8
The common candidate is digit 8 in r2c8 (red) which is eliminated because it can see both 8's in A & B. |
