Is there anyone of out thar that have experienve with Sudoku2 from fingerarts on the iPad/iPhone.

I have used it for a while. While the user interface is quite nice, I find the expert-level some times too difficult. Some of them are easilly solved using a two-string kite, a fish, sky-scraper or an xy-wing. But others seems completely unsolvable. As a test, I have ran several of them through SudoCue, to help find a solution, but it it surrenders!

Are there anyone of you having experience solving them without guessing?

Here is an example:
Code:

. . 2|. . .|7 . .
. . 7|3 . .|. 1 4
. . .|. . 5|. . 8
-----+-----+-----
. . .|. . .|1 6 .
. . 1|. 7 .|3 . .
. . .|6 . .|. . 7
-----+-----+-----
1 . .|. . 4|8 . .
. 5 8|. . 6|2 . .
. 4 .|. 5 .|. . .

And here is SudoCue's solver log:

The question is, is it really solvable. And if so, what's the trick?

the experts will say yes it is solvable

they'll use "forcing chains" or "forcing nets"

( Nicolas Juillerat's SuDoku Explainer can show you a solution-path )
