In this grid 6 is a hidden single in c6. Also, I'm unable to find the XYZ-Wing.

I didn't get as far as Terence on basics- see above. I had to use the 268 XY in c7+8 to progress
finishing with Dan's solution. Did I miss some basics?

I missed basics too, but Dan usually lets me know where I screwed up. In your grid the 8 can be removed from r3c4 because of the the 8s in c5, but I don't know how you got rid of the 9 from that cell.

@Marty: you are quite right of course about the hidden single, but it was hiding from me! Embarassed

So I was referring to the X wing on 6 in r89c47 which eliminated the 6 from r4c4.

This reveals the 6 as a hidden single in r4, and for some reason I can spot hidden singles in rows better than I can in columns!!

The 8 rather than a 9 in r3c4 was a typo.......memo to self-must be more careful, these guys spot everything!
