A two-stepper with a nice ALS move (a doubly linked als-xz I think - though I found it as a chain)
Quote:
als-xz ; ant(379=8)r257c3 - anp(8=23)r78c9 - (3=5)r4c9 - ant(5=379)r245c3 - loop ; r8c3<>39=4, r9c3<>37, r136c9<>3
xy-chain-als ; (3=9)r5c6 - anp(9=37)r1c6|r2c5 - (3=6)r3c4 - (6=3)r9c4 ; r78c6<>3
Fwiw this can be re-built as a single stepper kraken/almost-aic...
Quote:
kraken aals(37)r1c6|r2c5, (9)r1c6, (9)r2c5 ; r789c6<>3
np(37)r1c6|r2c5 - (3=6)r3c4 - (6=3)r9c4 - (3)r789c6
||
(9)r1c6 - (9=3)r5c6 - (3)r789c6
||
(9)r2c5 - r2c13=r3c2 - (9=3)r8c2 - (37=8)r7c13 - (8=23)r78c9 - (3)r46c9=r6c7 - r6c5=r5c6 - (3)r789c6

As mentioned recently, Extreme puzzles should contain a useful Fish of size N=3 or larger.

Of course, that doesn't mean much when you're searching for them with pencil & paper. _ Confused _

I never look for them to be honest - sometimes I stumble across something when following x-chains w/wo groups, but otherwise a swordfish is my limit!
I will make a mental note to look harder when you label them as "Extreme". Thanks for posting the solution.
