OK, Nataraj's Sudoku career is off and running and we're in on the ground floor!!

Puzzle Nataraj 1885844543, the first one. My first step might not have played a role in the solution.

Thank you Marty and Ted !

Last night, when my computer finally did what "he" was supposed to do, I just had to let you guys on this forum know about the "historical" Wink moment.

And, yes, I'll try to be good and post no more than one puzzle per thread Smile

What I am after with this project - which started about 6 weeks ago after a conversation with one of the guys in the office - is actually not to create extra difficult puzzles, but to search for the elusive "human solving experience" factor: just what makes a puzzle fun to solve? What is it that gives us pleasure / satisfaction in solving Sudokus?

Intellectual satisfaction after cracking a tough nut - for sure.
But there is more... elegance ? rhythm ? "flow" ?
The simple concept of "I like this".

Is there a way at all to measure things like that (aside from brain scans)?

Hm. First step was to get the stupid machine to create stuff. I just hope I'll be able to advance to the next stage: to create "fun" puzzles. There'll be a puzzle now and then, I hope, but knowing myself I am pretty sure this is not going to be very often. No "career" at all Laughing

Currently away in remote parts but have dropped into internet range and just wanted to say "Herzlichen Glückwunsch" to Nataraj!

The "enjoyment factors" will be interesting to catalogue!
