Yep, I played a 58 W-Wing first because it was there, then your XY-Wing.

A 2-5-6 xy wing (see boxes 7 & 8 ) was the cure for me---or so I thought.
But then I had to find another xy wing, the one you folks first found. See second grid below, in the top row of boxes.
Code:

+----------------+-----------------+--------------+
| 7    3   89    | 4     2    89   | 6     1  5   |
| 145  589 489   | 35689 5689 3689 | 348   7  2   |
| 45   2   6     | 358   1    378  | 348   34 9   |
+----------------+-----------------+--------------+
| 9    1   3478  | 2     468  368  | 3478  5  348 |
| 346  68  5     | 7     4689 1    | 2     34 348 |
| 234  78  23478 | 38    48   5    | 13478 9  6   |

At the crunch point (see above) there are two apparently equivalent routes one an XY wing 458 the other a W Wing using 58s.
Both of these lead to a solution of row 3 and hence the remainder of the puzzle

This is almost the same as the last VH where both the XY wing and W Wing
lead to solution of the same row!

Basically, an "easy" with a hard to miss xy-wing added.
For more of a challenge, try yesterday's vh squiggly.

Here are my 2 cents: as usual, I did it the same way "Early" Earl did.
No Sudoku for me all last week -- I was proofreading a neuroanatomy text and my eyes were all done in by the end of the day.
