What a splendid sudoku !! - though I may have exceeded the legal limit for solutions. A skyscraper on <9>; a Type 4 UR for <35>; a finned x-wing on <4>: an ER on <7>; and an xy-wing to finish it off.

Actually I'm not sure that was the proper shape for a finned x-wing on <4> at R4C4, R5C45, R9C45. But looking at the pattern - it is clear that there can be no 4s in Box 2 C45.

When done with basics:
Code:

+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 6       589     4589     | 1       578     578      | 3       457     2        |
| 25      7       1        | 3       25      4        | 6       8       9        |
| 3       258     2458     | 2578    9       6        | 45      457     1        |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 578     1       579      | 4578    3       2        | 48      49      6        |
| 258     2359    6        | 458     458     1        | 7       249     35       |
| 4       235     257      | 9       6       578      | 28      1       35       |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 9       68      78       | 67      1       3        | 25      25      4        |
| 1       4       3        | 258     258     58       | 9       6       7        |
| 257     256     257      | 467     47      9        | 1       3       8        |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+

no skyscraper on 9, hm ... must have missed that one.

But

(Multi-) coloring (7), using the strong links in cols 1,5 and 6,
x-wing (5), and
BUG+1

nataraj, the simpler coloring pattern on 7 is the one I have marked (#) below, does the same thing.

the UR on {3,5} is nice to see also marked ( * ) removes the 5 from r56c2

Code:
.------------------.------------------.------------------.
| 6     589   4589 | 1     578   578  | 3     457   2    |
| 25    7     1    | 3     25    4    | 6     8     9    |
| 3     258   2458 | 2578  9     6    | 45    457   1    |
:------------------+------------------+------------------:
| 578   1     579  |#4578  3     2    | 48    49    6    |
| 258  *2359  6    | 458   458   1    | 7     249  *35   |
| 4    *235  25-7  | 9     6    #578  | 28    1    *35   |
:------------------+------------------+------------------:
| 9     68   #78   |#67    1     3    | 25    25    4    |
| 1     4     3    | 258   258   58   | 9     6     7    |
| 257   256   257  | 467   47    9    | 1     3     8    |
'------------------'------------------'------------------'

xy-wing finishes it

After basics: Nothing new on my part. Just trimming previous results.

1) ER or finned X-Wing for [r6c3]<>7 --or-- Sashimi X-Wing for [r4c4]<>7

2) XY-Wing for [r4c4]<>8

I had the UR <35>, a kite on <7>, then multi-coloring on <5> that set up the BUG+1. Just slightly different from the others.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Skyscraper on 7 in r67 as the first step. Norm's multi-coloring comes close and is your basic Turbot Fish.

Like nataraj, I, too, then went for the 5 X-Wing. The resulting BUG+1 can also be done in with an XY-Wing.

Ahem ...

Code:
Sashimi X-Wing for [r4c4]<>7

I reserve Skyscrapers for when eliminations exist in two boxes.
