7/6

Some coloring (2 and/or 3) and an xy-wing (14-12-24 top right) brought me here:

Eliminations (you don't have to look at the drawings, the connections are in lower case a-a-a between pincers A-A):

m-wings:
A: (2 via 1) pincers r5c5,r1c9 => r5c9<>2 i.e. pincers are "2", using weak link/strong link in "1"
B: (2 via 4) pincers r9c8,r3c6 => r9c6<>2
C: (2 via 3) pincers r1c9,r9c8 => r1c8<>2

w-wings:
V: (4 via 2) pincers r3c5,r9c8 => r3c8<>4
useless: (4 via 3), pincers r2c3,r9c7 strong link 3 in row 8

7/4 Puzzle

Two steps: a skyscraper on 1 in r38c1 and multicoloring on 9 plus cleanup.

It took me longer to solve than it appears..............

Well, as is becoming all to common, my solution to the 7/6 puzzle was again much longer than others (in this case Nataraj). In sequence, I found a Type 4 UR on <26>, an x-wing on <2>, coloring on <2> and then on <3>, an xy-wing on <124> and finally the w-wing on <24> noted by Nataraj that finally did the trick. Clearly some of these moves were not fruitful.

It must be time for my nap ........ Exclamation

Not to worry, Ted! I did not elaborate on th intermediary steps but I remember there was coloring on 2, on 3, on 2 again, and the xy-wing, before I came to the position above. That leaves only the UR I did not see/use...

Hardly "much" longer Smile
