I am new to sudoku and started solving puzzles before I knew the lingo and or how to characterize the "advanced techniques." I solved Friday's puzzle, and really enjoyed it, but I don't know what the technique is called that solves the puzzle? I looked at the 3478 candidate-related cells in boxes 4 and 5 and noted that unless you wanted two 7s in one row, there was really only one solve. Was this the point others got to and focused on in the solve? Is it forcing chains? A variation/twist on the xy-wing?
