I got to this point and noticed -1 r2c5 <> 1
as then r1c6=8, r1c2=3 leaves no room for <3> in r2
or <78> pair in r2 gives r2c1=3, r1c2=8 and two <1>s in box 2

Whichever way solves the puzzle

A nice puzzle, with a very different feel to it!
