				| Marty,
How did you get rid of <2> in R4C2?

 After basics:
  	  | Code: | | +----------------+----------------+----------------+ | 17   39   5    | 2    39   14   | 6    8    47   |
 | 6    239  2379 | 58   39   48   | 457  3457 1    |
 | 8    4    13   | 156  7    16   | 9    35   2    |
 +----------------+----------------+----------------+
 | 4    126  128  | 3678 5    3678 | 178  27   9    |
 | 5    7    18   | 9    4    2    | 18   6    3    |
 | 3    269  289  | 678  1    678  | 478  247  5    |
 +----------------+----------------+----------------+
 | 17   5    4    | 137  8    137  | 2    9    6    |
 | 2    13   137  | 147  6    9    | 457  457  8    |
 | 9    8    6    | 47   2    5    | 3    1    47   |
 +----------------+----------------+----------------+
 |
 Ignoring the 39 UR, there is a W-wing 13 taking out 3 in R1C2, R2C2, and R8C3.

An XY-wing -357 finishes it off.

These (Friday FREEP) puzzles have gotten harder. Used to be, they could usually be solved with a skyscraper (kite).

				| Keith, one of the "givens" is a 2r2c2.
 Marty, great ALS.

				| Keith,
I don't know. I've had a falloff in doing basics.

 Ted,

Thank you. I've been called out on bad ALS's. I've hopefully learned a lot, although they can be embarrassing and humbling.

 OK,

I think I noticed that that 2 was a given and edited the post. I did not add it to the puzzle I was solving, though.
