It seems that we are all late playing sudoku today.

I thought I could find a non-chain solution in there, but couldn't, so I used a 7-cell chain.

A=5-->G=3 via ABCDEFG; r4c1<>3.

Help me out with terminology here. What makes this a wing as opposed to an XY-Chain?

I could be expressed as an xy-chain but I don't like chains. Very Happy

an xy-wing is a xy-chain length 3 but we express it as a wing. Confused

To me a wing is composed of 3 strong links in an AIC but there are others that know more about it than me. Help would be appreciated.

Well, I thought I was doing reasonably well until you pointed out the mess I made of my post, which I royally screwed up. Embarassed

I had been looking at three combinations of anp()s all using(356)r6c1: anp(36=5)r46c1, anp(35=6)r6c19 & (35=6)r68c1. I missed a mental gear shift with I prepared my post and combined different logic or whatever. A better statement would not include the extra strong link or, as an alternative,

anp(35=6)r68c1-(6=4)r6c6-(4=3)r9c6-r9c2=r5c2; -3r4c1
