I still enjoy an AUR...............

Quote:
AUR (59)r69c45 external sis: r4c6=9,r7c56=9; r6c12<>1
(9)r4c6-(4)r4c6=(4)r5c6-als(4=18)r5c12;
||
(9)r7c56-(9=8)r7c2-(8=1)r5c2;

Ted, nice move Exclamation - perhaps slightly easier to see if you use the internal sis (1)r6c45?

Having spent 20 mins looking for a one-stepper, failing and then seeing your move, it sent me back to look for a non-UR version... completely OTT but I had some fun Smile

Code:
Consider these two almost-patterns:

xy-wing(89-1) (1=8)r5c2-(8=9)r7c2-(9=1)r7c6, fin (2)r7c6
w-wing(79) (9=7)r4c2-r1c2=r1c3-(7=9)r9c3, fin (7)r1c5

xy-wing(89-1)=(2)r7c6 - (2=5)r1c6 - als(1579)[(5)r3c6=(7)r3c5] - (7)r1c5=w-wing(79) - (9=8)r7c2 - (8=1)r5c2 ; r5c6<>1

[Edit] I now see it could be much simpler!
Code:
xy-wing(89-1)=(2)r7c6 - (2=5)r1c6 - als(1579)[(5)r3c6=(7)r3c5] - (7)r3c1=(7-8)r9c1=r7c2 - (8=1)r5c2 ; r5c6<>1

As we say in the Uk after you have made a bit of a tit of yourself, "I'll get my coat..."

Peter,

My code after basics has (2) in r9c5 as an additional internal inference. I saw both but posted the external since I found it first. For the internal set, the additional digit (2)r9c5-als(2=19)r7c56-(9=8)r7c2-(8=1)r5c2 to make the identical deletion as the external sis.

I guess a mixed internal/external sis may be the simplest.

Sorry not to be clear, that was exactly what I meant the internal sis (1)r6c23 and external sis (9)r9c13
Code:
ur(59)[(1)r6c23=(9)r9c13] - (9=8)r7c2 - (8=1)r5c2

Peter
, Congratulations, I think you reached a hew height with your original solution, but I do not believe it is possible to go completely "OTT" Exclamation

I enjoyed just following your logic; it was great. Cool

I also used the 59 UR. Internal analysis yielded numerous common outcomes.
