2 1 _ 8 _ _ 4 7 5
8 7 _ 5 4 1 2 _ 9
4 9 5 7 2 _ 1 _ 8

9 6 4 3 1 5 8 2 7
3 5 2 6 7 8 9 4 1
7 8 1 4 9 2 3 5 6

6 2 9 1 3 7 5 8 4
5 3 7 9 8 4 6 1 2
1 4 8 2 _ _ 7 9 3

There is only one way to fill in the squares that I've filled in. (unless I've made a logical error... in which case there is a small possibility that there are more.) However, there are three different ways you can complete this puzzle.

Yup, and there is only 1 way to comple it:

6 in r1c5 6 in r9c6 - unique cell
3 in r1c3 3 in r3c6 5 in r9c5 - unique cell
9 in r1c6 6 in r2c3 6 in r3c8 - unique cell
3 in r2c8 - unique cell

Final SuDoku Table

2 1 3 8 6 9 4 7 5
8 7 6 5 4 1 2 3 9
4 9 5 7 2 3 1 6 8
9 6 4 3 1 5 8 2 7
3 5 2 6 7 8 9 4 1
7 8 1 4 9 2 3 5 6
6 2 9 1 3 7 5 8 4
5 3 7 9 8 4 6 1 2
1 4 8 2 5 6 7 9 3

I agree ... definitely only one way to complete the 'near solution' given in the first post.

Yes. And you don't even have to explain it in the fancy way that someone_somewhere does. If you want more people to understand your guidance, this is a way to do it:

r1c6 must be a 9 (because c3 and c5 already have a 9)
r1c3 must be a 3 (because c5 already has a 3)
so r1c5 must be a 6, and you'll have no problem figuring out the rest
