I would be interested in how others feel. When I check the Daily Sudoku and see that it is "easy" I feel somewhat let down and I usually do not bother with it. For those that are "hard" and "very hard" I usually print them and do them when I have a quiet time. When I do print them the difficulty label does not print, and so occasionally I will do a puzzle having no idea if it is "hard" or "very hard". I like that. In fact, because I view Sudoku as brain exercise, I would like to do one each morning and therefore would prefer (I think) not knowing the difficulty before I start. That would mean the puzzle may be anywhere from "easy" to "very hard" and I would not know that when I attempted to solve it.

What about not labeling the Daily with a difficulty?

Hi Stanley,

myself I rather like to have a choice. On the other hand, I see your point, but since the owner does not seem to be developping this site's software any more, the question "should this feature be added...?" is kind of moot.

If you want to get rid of the difficulty level on the printed page, take these steps:

==========

edit: FORGET THIS. see below for simple way to do it

1. on the daily sudoku page, click "play online - classic"
2. in draw/play click the "Ascii" pushbutton
3. in the window that pops up, click into the grid, it should be highlighted
4. copy everything (Ctrl-C)

5. I have provided a simple tool that will accept sudokus from many sources. On this site paste the grid into the input area and hit "Format"

This will take you back to the dailysudoku page but this time the puzzle is "unknown" Smile

6. Add any title and print

END FORGET THIS
==========

7. Get a surprise sudoku next morning

Couple of points here. First, the rating appears just above the spot the spot where one would click, so the person has to avoid looking there. But all he has to do is click the grid (again, avoid looking) for the printable page; the ratings haven't been showing on the print version.

I see.

DO NOT click "classic play online". Click "Show page" Ah ...
How simple ...
