I had a couple of moves that provided deletions that were not necessary for a two-step solution.

Quote:
ER <2> with strong link in c2 that deleted <2> in r5c7 and opened up
One of Keith's Extended xy-wings <239> with pivot <39> at r2c1 and pseudo-cell <23> in r67c1 that deletes <2> in r7c3

I used the ER on 2, a W-Wing on 13 and a W-Wing with pincer transport on 28.

Ted,

Not exactly a shocking development when I have trouble grasping a concept, but I'm having problems learning the pseudo cell concept. In this instance, I can see how the 2 is eliminated from r7c3 via a forcing chain, but I can't see how it gets eliminated via an XY-Wing with pincers.

Code:

+------------+--------+----------+
| 5   4  29  | 6 89 3 | 28  1 7  |
| 39  38 7   | 2 89 1 | 5   4 6  |
| 1   28 6   | 7 5  4 | 9   3 28 |
+------------+--------+----------+
| 7   5  18  | 3 2  9 | 18  6 4  |
| 239 23 129 | 4 6  8 | 13  7 5  |
| 38  6  4   | 1 7  5 | 238 9 28 |
+------------+--------+----------+
| 28  7  28  | 9 3  6 | 4   5 1  |
| 4   9  5   | 8 1  7 | 6   2 3  |
| 6   1  3   | 5 4  2 | 7   8 9  |
+------------+--------+----------+
