Yes, I guess this puzzle was at the extreme end of BBDB.

Code:
   c6    Naked  Triple                   <> 126  [r38c6]
   c3b9  ER                              <> 1    [r2c8]
   c34   Skyscraper                      <> 6    [r2c6],[r3c12]
         XY-Wing  [r2c8]/[r1c9]+[r2c6]   <> 1    [r1c6]
   c36   Skyscraper                      <> 1    [r8c5],[r9c12]
 r9  b8  Locked Candidate 2              <> 1    [r7c5]

 +--------------------------------------------------------------+
 |  1368  168   7     |  4     9     26    |  5     1236  16    |
 |  4     5     16    |  8     3     12    |  7     26    9     |
 |  139   19    2     |  67    15    57    |  8     136   4     |
 |--------------------+--------------------+--------------------|
 |  2     4     8     |  1     6     3     |  9     7     5     |
 |  7     3     5     |  9     2     8     |  14    146   16    |
 |  16    16    9     |  5     7     4     |  3     8     2     |
 |--------------------+--------------------+--------------------|
 |  15    7     3     |  2     45    9     |  6     14    8     |
 |  1568  2     16    |  67    458   57    |  14    9     3     |
 |  689   689   4     |  3     18    16    |  2     5     7     |
 +--------------------------------------------------------------+
 # 45 eliminations remain

         Multiple Colors                 <> 1    [r1c1],[r3c8]
 r1  b3  Locked Candidate 1              <> 1    [r1c2]
         XY-Wing  [r2c6]/[r1c6]+[r2c3]   <> 6    [r1c12]

To get around Multiple Colors + LC_1 + XY-Wing: four choices

Code:
 -6r2c3  1r2c3  1r9c6  6r8c4   [M__Wing] <> 6 [r8c3]
 -6r2c8  2r2c8  2r1c6  6r3c4   [M__Wing] <> 6 [r3c8]
 -2r1c6  6r1c6  6r2c3  2r2c8   [W__Wing] <> 2 [r1c8],[r2c6]

That looks pretty complicated. I used an ER on 6, a Type 4 UR on 67, a W-Wing on 16 and a 261 XY-Wing. Note the W-Wing on the 16 cells in boxes 78 linked by the 1s in row2.

Note: I just did a puzzle labeled Qa8 which has apparently disappeared from the list of topics.

I often configure a test version of my puzzle generator to try and generate a specific type of puzzle. A test run went well with only a few puzzles generated, so I posted Qa8 from that run. Unfortunately, later runs proved very ineffective at generating more puzzles of the same type. I dumped that test version of my puzzle generator and then deleted the post since it hadn't received any replies. I'm sorry that you were left with no place to post a solution Exclamation

FWIW: I suffer from OCD and I'm driven to clean up dangling ends!
