I solved this puzzle yesterday in six steps but given this post, I did it again and found a three step solution: | Quote: | x-wing <8> r28c37

xy-wing <468> pivot <68> r7c8

xy-wing <369> pivot <39> r8c1 |

I also used three steps, but different from Ted's.

Multi-coloring on 4

XY-Wing on 396

X-Wing on 3 |

				I believe I had two X-wings, then two XY-wings.

By the way, I am not looking for the minimum number of steps. It just seems to me that many like multi-step puzzles at about the level of this site's "Very Hard".

A good one for a snowed-in cabin fever day in Canada with an Easy VH for the Daily Puzzle.

4 different steps for me: x-wing on 8, ER on 4, 369 xy wing (pivot 39 twice used) and the 468 xy wing.

But no wine or Scotch - it's beer for me. Though I usually stop after 2.

Sometimes 2:30. |
