I used four techniques and got stuck. A Medusa wrap opened things up enough for four or five more moves, with an M-Wing finishing it off.

The M-Wings on 59 were part of an "almost" Type 6 UR on the same pair. I didn't know if there was something to do based on the combination, so I used an M-Wing, made two moves based on the hidden UR and used the second M-Wing to finish.

Based on the fact that you called this a VH+, I think I must've missed something.

I found a very useful x-wing (1) rows 1,5 right away.

(I then jumped at a gm-wing, but later realized, that I had not yet exhausted the usual VH arsenal)

An xy-wing ( 8 ) r5c3=r9c2 ( 85-59-98 ); r7c3,r5c2<>8

And another xy-wing ( 1 ) r6c8=r5c2 ( 13-35-51 ); r6c1<>1

did the job with common vh tools... Very Happy Very Happy

After reading the comments already posted, I think I was somewhere between Marty and Nataraj. I started off with the x-wing on <1>, then spotted a Kraken x-wing on <1> (but I later realized that the same elimination could have been made by either a ER in box3 or a kite in box 6). Next, I found a xy-wing on <589> and then on <135>. Following another x-wing on <8>, a UR on <45> did the deed for me.

This puzzle and the "Set C Puzzle #" puzzle both required six VH steps, but I worked harder to solve this one even though it had a slightly lower rating. Of course, I could have missed a killer step for either puzzle.

I base puzzle ratings on the difficulty of the techniques used by my solver, and try to factor in the number of techniques present.

Code:
 r15     X-Wing                          <> 1    [r36c2],[r2346c4]
         Colors                          <> 1    [r2c1]              Kite
         XY-Wing  [r6c2]/[r5c3]+[r9c2]   <> 8    [r5c2],[r7c3]
         Multiple Colors                 <> 8    [r1c3]              Kite
         XY-Wing  [r5c7]/[r5c2]+[r6c8]   <> 1    [r6c1]
 r1      Naked  Pair                     <> 57   [r1c247]

From now on, I'll post unrated puzzles and let you decide their difficulty. Actually, I was planning to do this anyway, and your comments indicate that I'd made the right decision.
