Here is a VH puzzle that provided me numerous "useless" solutions before I overcame it.

 	  | Code: |

 *-----------*

 |7..|642|.9.|

 |48.|...|6..|

 |..2|.9.|4..|

 |---+---+---|

 |.9.|4.3|...|

 |5..|...|..1|

 |...|1.5|.4.|

 |---+---+---|

 |..6|.3.|1..|

 |..4|...|.25|

 |.1.|284|..6|

 *-----------* |

Hope you enjoy ......

Since you didn't indicate a solution, I have no idea if I'm reinventing the wheel. Also, I'm no good at DPs, so this is probably wrong anyway.

(789) DP in [c46] forces [r3c6]=1

I have two alternate solutions if this one is incorrect or already taken. |

				| That c24 789 pattern is not a DP since the 79 pairs are not in the same row. So, the <1> placement is not valid. |

I spotted the UR <17> in r23c68 with a x-wing <1> overlay that deleted <7> in r3c68. This then opened up a "useless" xy-wing <379> with pivot in r8c7, but the pincer at r8c4 can be transported to r2c6 thereby removing the <7> from r2c8 and completing the puzzle.
